Effective February 1, 2016, the new ANSI/ISEA 107-2015 standard is approved and in full effect. Please feel free to contact us should you have any questions!
Below are the more noteworthy changes:
* Three new garment types have been added to broaden protection:
TYPE O for Off-Road Use (Includes Class I)
TYPE R for Roadway Use (Includes Class 2 and 3)
TYPE P for Public Safety Use (Includes Class 2 and 3)
* Smaller sizing is now allowed to accommodate smaller body frames:
TYPE R CLASS 2 decreases from 775 square inch minimum to 540 square inches
TYPE R CLASS 3 decreases from 1240 square inch minimum to 1000 square inches<
* Self- Extinguishing FR Labeling Changes:
Any ANSI 107-2015 rated garments made from polyester or any non-inherent flame resistant fabric will require the following statement on the label:
THIS GARMENT IS NOT FLAME RESISTANT AS DEFINDED BY ANSI/ISEA 107-2015 SECTION 10.5
***Please note that all your existing 3A Safety products will not be affected. All of our garments were
already compliant with previous ANSI requirements and these new guidelines primarily affect the new
categories and accommodation of smaller frames.
